Testing HS10-New Setting: P Mode, ISO 1600 Auto
In dpreview forum, Ralph McKenzie showed his pictures in an "unusual setting" : Tone-High, Sharpness-Hard for HS10. Dave Lloydy tried to combine this setting with his: Color-Chrom, DR-200%. Dave is very satisfied with the new setting, even he braves enough to increase the ISO he usually used (for some conditions): 800 auto to 1600 auto.
I myself would like to test this new setting. The opportunity came when there was a carnival in Jogjakarta last Saturday night.
Here are some pictures. All are SOOC just resized. Frankly speaking, I am happy with the new setting. What's your opinion.

This is the city landmark of Jogjakarta

On the way to the location my wife bought some traditional snacks from a street trader

We came a bit late therefore it is impossible to get a good place to take pictures among the crowd.
The following pictures are handheld, and no flash

Then the next, I used flash due to the lack of light

Quite impressed with the white balance.
I use High ISOs quite a bit but never the high tonal settings so I will try them out.
The slightly blurred pictures may be where the camera has selected as slightly lower ISO than the rest.
Could you look and confirm that please?
I would be interested to find out.

@ Uwe: Thank you for your nice comment. You are right. Indeed I had a good time, that evening was really great. Luckily when the carnival was over it started drizzle
@Kym: Terimakasih Kym, saya juga tidak mengira hasilnya cukup baik mengingat ISO yang tinggi.
@Raymond: Thanks Raymond for your response. For me tonal settings is a matter of choice. But for high ISO, hard sharpness settings is a must. The slightly blurred pictures is not as a result of slightly lower ISO, because the ISO is still the same at 1600, but becuase of the movement of the persons. You can see the lanterns and the people in the background are not quite blurred. You can link to http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1012&message=36658953 to see the exif data
